San Diego! My favorite city in California! Known for its almost perfect weather, endless palm trees, and its long stretch of white-sand beaches. Visit this gorgeous city for all the fun and sun you can get!
Here are some of my favorite things to do in America’s Finest City!
1. Hike Cowles Mountain at Mission Trails Regional Park
When I lived in San Diego I used to hike this mountain every other weekend. It’s a good workout, especially if you run it. Cowles Mountain is the highest peak within city limits. You can see Tijuana, Mexico from the top. For an even better experience, pack some snacks and have a picnic at the top while you enjoy the view.
2. Visit Belmont Park at Mission Beach Boardwalk
Ride a roller coaster, eat some funnel cake, zip line — all with a beachfront view. It’s a cute amusement park but you won’t need to spend more than two to three hours there (unless you’re with kids). After you stroll around the park, rent a bike and visit the neighboring beach, Pacific Beach (PB).
3. Dine in Little Italy
Little Italy is the cutest destination for a romantic date night. Indulge in some mouthwatering Italian cuisine, walk along the lit up streets, and leave room for an ice cream cone from iDessert.
4. Take a ferry to Coronado Island
The view of San Diego’s skyline is much better from the ferry. Don’t miss out! Once you arrive to the island, you can head over to Coronado beach. It is much cleaner and less congested than most of the other San Diego beaches.
5. Visit San Diego’s Historic Old Town
This park celebrates the early years of San Diego. There are buildings that date back to the 1820’s. Here, you can have some Mexican food with fresh, hand-made corn tortillas, shop at the Old Town Market, or visit the haunted Whaley House.
6. Watch the sunset at Sunset Cliffs
They named it Sunset Cliffs for a reason! It’s one of the most strikingly beautiful places to catch the sunset. The sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs is so relaxing, and, the colors that are formed in the sky are out of this world!
7. Catch a Baseball Game at Petco Park
The stadium is located downtown along the harbor so you get a great view of the city’s skyline. Grab a beer and a slice of pizza and cheer on your team!
8. Grab a drink in Gaslamp Quarter
The Gaslamp Quarter is home to San Diego’s nightlife. Whether you’re looking for a chill bar night, a wild club scene, or a classy wine date, it’s all at the Quarter! Head over to Rustic Root for some of my favorite Moscow Mules!
