The most magical time of the year is here, everything is jolly and bright! But sometimes the holidays can also get a bit hectic with gift buying and preparations. It’s easy to forget to enjoy the little things like spending quality time with our loved ones and making memories. In my opinion, that’s what matters most! So I created a little last minute Christmas bucket-list for myself and for all of you! I hope it gives you some ideas for some fun holiday activities!
Here’s my Christmas Bucket-list: 20 Fun Holiday Activities
1. BUILD AND DECORATE A GINGERBREAD HOUSE
I love this little fun activity! It’s super affordable and easy enough for all family members to join. My family loves to get creative and host competitions for the best gingerbread house! Always a blast!
2. PLAY IN THE SNOW
Whether you take a snow trip before or after Christmas, I always feel like it’s an essential activity during winter season! Playing in the snow is so much fun and makes you feel like a kid again!

Check out my Lake Tahoe blog post here for the perfect snow trip!
3. SPEND A DAY BAKING CHRISTMAS COOKIES
I’m personally super excited for this one because I’ve never done this before! I can’t wait to make little snowflake, mistletoe, and candy cane shaped cookies! P.S. Don’t forget to leave some out for Santa!
4. GO ICE SKATING
Depending on the quarantine restrictions in your city, you might or might not be able to do this. But if you are, find the nearest ice skating rink and go for a spin for a magical holiday experience!

5. DECORATE YOUR HOUSE
By this time, you either decorated already or aren’t planning to. But it’s still not too late to add little touches here and there and around your home to make it feel extra special!
6. VISIT A CHRISTMAS TREE FARM
I’m ashamed to say but I don’t think I’ve ever visited a Christmas tree farm! Ever since I can remember my family has bought fake Christmas trees so we’ve never had the need. This year we also have a fake Christmas tree but I still want to visit a tree farm just for the experience!
7. WALK OR DRIVE AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD TO SEE THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
OMG!! This one is a favorite of mine!! Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and drive around the neighborhood as you admire all the pretty lights!
8. WATCH YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY MOVIES
Possibly the best Christmas activity! Sitting around a cozy home with your loved ones and watching all the classic Christmas movies just warms the heart! My favorite Christmas movies to watch are Home Alone (and 2), Elf, The Family Stone, The Holiday, The Grinch, and Love Actually.

9. DONATE TO CHARITY
Let’s not forget to give to those who are in need! I love to donate toys to the Toys for Tots Foundation. If you can’t donate then maybe you can practice doing random acts of kindness! π€
10. LISTEN TO YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONGS
I love to make my own Christmas playlist and listen to joyful music every single morning while I make coffee and breakfast! This really uplifts the Christmas spirit!
11. HOST A FAMILY GAME NIGHT
I love hosting family game nights! It’s such an easy way to spend quality time and make memories with your family! Usually, my boyfriend and I invite all of our siblings over to play UNO, Exploding Kittens, Blockbuster, Millennial Loteria, Taboo, and any other fun games we come across! It’s the best!
12. BUILD A CHRISTMAS PUZZLE WITH YOUR FAMILY
Since there’s an ongoing pandemic, I thought I’d add this to the list to have plenty of fun options for indoor activities! A holiday Christmas puzzle would be so much fun to build with the family!
13. MAKE THE PERFECT HOT CHOCOLATE DRINK
Who doesn’t love a nice creamy cup of hot chocolate? I like to mix Abuelita chocolate from Nestle with organic soy milk. It’s super yummy! Make it fun and add almond-based whip cream, candy canes, and marshmallows!

14. PLAN A SECRET SANTA OR WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE
Secret Santa and White Elephant are super fun gift exchange games! Instead of overwhelming yourself and buying every single family member a gift, plan out one of these two games with your family!
15. LIGHT HOLIDAY SCENTED CANDLES
Light holiday scented candles around your house to make it even more Christmassy! Some of my favorite scents are winter forest, cinnamon, open fire, and chestnut.
16. WEAR AN UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER
There might not be too many parties to go to this year but you can still wear your ugly Christmas sweater around the house or with your family! For some good laughs, have a little competition to see who wears the ugliest one!
17. WRAP CHRISTMAS PRESENTS
Wrapping presents does’t have to be a tedious task! Take your time, add special touches, play Christmas movies or music in the background, and turn the whole thing into an experience!
18. SIT BY THE FIRE AND ROAST MARSHMALLOWS
Grab some crackers, chocolate bars, and marshmallows and sit by the fire with your favorite people as you make s’mores and share special stories!
19. BUY NEW CHRISTMAS PJs
Get cozy in a new pair of Christmas themed PJs! Maybe you could even convince your whole family to buy matching PJs.
20. TAKE CHRISTMAS PICTURES WITH YOUR LOVED ONES
Don’t forget to capture all the special moments with your loved ones! It can either be a planned photoshoot or candid shots throughout the holidays. Either way, make sure you capture all the magic!
That’s it for now! I hope you enjoyed my little Christmas Bucket-list! Let me know what you would add to your list!
