8 Highlights From The Dreamiest Stay At The Hotel Carmel

Thanks to The Hotel Carmel for hosting me during my stay. Thoughts and opinions shared here are entirely my own.

Are you looking for a dreamy weekend getaway in California? Well, let me tell you, Carmel-by-the-Sea is the definition of dreamy! From its village-like town and fairytale cottage houses to upscale boutique shops/hotels and stunning beaches, this town is the perfect destination if you want to feel like you’ve traveled to somewhere in Europe – a total wanderlust dream!

I got the chance to stay with The Hotel Carmel and it took my entire Carmel experience to a whole new level. This stunning boutique hotel welcomes you with a cozy Bed & Breakfast vibe, a warm and inviting courtyard, flower covered balconies, and a mix of cottage and countryside feels. I’m excited to share my highlights from the dreamiest stay at The Hotel Carmel.

Here are 8 Highlights from The Dreamiest Stay at The Hotel Carmel!

Let’s start with where to find this beautiful hotel! You can find The Hotel Carmel in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea at the corner of 4th & San Carlos St.

The rooms are cozy, quaint, and feel like they’re straight out of a luxe farmhouse! They feature an open fireplace, huge windows that allow lots of light to pour in, window-side bench seating with lots of cushion pillows, a large TV, an espresso machine, and your own personal robe.

The balconies are an absolute dream! Other than the flowers and greenery that wrap around the railings, they also feature two movie director-style chairs and a side table to relax outside your room. If you stay on the second floor you will get ocean views from your balcony. You can wake up, step outside, and breathe in that fresh ocean air while you sip on your freshly poured espresso!

This is by far my favorite and the dreamiest spot in the hotel! The courtyard features a communal fire pit with Adirondack chairs surrounding it, lush greenery and a succulent garden, and outdoor couches in front of a fireplace that sit under a wooden covered porch! I swear, this space is unreal! I spent most of my time here enjoying my breakfast and coffee, which is included with your stay. And I also spent my nights here, cuddling with my boyfriend and cozying up next to the fire!

The jacuzzi is small and intimate, perfect for no more than six guests. It has a stunning stone wall as a backdrop and beautiful mosaic tile surrounding the tub. Perfect for a little sunrise or sunset dip!

When you enter the lobby, it feels like you’ve entered your friend’s very stylish home. It has those farmhouse, cottage vibes like the rooms, but it also has a lounge area with modern vintage and retro vibes. Here you can find a cassette player and cassette tapes that play throughout the day. You can also find a cute little breakfast nook to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine during their “wine hour.”

The staff was super friendly! Every time we needed water, extra coffee, or someone to turn on the fire pit, they quickly and happily assisted us. They would always smile and greet us and we could not be more satisfied with their service.

Brophy’s Tavern is the hotel’s restaurant and it is attached to the main lobby, just a few steps away from your room. It is a relaxed Irish pub with a full bar, delicious food options, and a fun little jukebox to keep you singing and dancing all night long! We headed over to the tavern for veggie burgers, fries, a few desserts, and a couple of cocktails. Everything was delicious! Not to mention, the staff was super friendly when we asked to customize our burgers since they didn’t have one without meat and we’re vegetarian. It was the best!

The hotel is just three blocks away from the town center and the main street, and only a 10-12 minute walk to the beach. I loved how everything was walking distance and we didn’t have to drive our car and struggle to find parking.
